Benefits of Older Women, Younger Men, MarriagesMore Women are Marrying Younger Men and Enjoying Many Advantages
Older women like the fact that younger men are vital, adventurous, more sensitive, and embrace them as strong, capable human beings.
Marriages between older women and younger men seem to be more prevalent these days. Why? Older women are getting the vitality, sensitivity and appreciation they want in their man. And, younger men are getting strong, capable women who are comfortable in their own skin. Sometimes, better sex means a better life, too. When actress Demi Moore married Ashton Kutcher, that raised a few eyebrows. These days, however, the very idea is raising little green monsters in women who would love to love a younger man. Why Older Women, Younger Men Marriages WorkWhile many of such couples see their marriages as like any other marriage, there are some benefits in the older woman, younger man, marriage. According to Sandra L. Caron, who is a professor of family relations and human sexuality at the University of Maine, and an author of a 2006 study published in the Journal of Couple and Relationship Therapy, older women like the zest for life that younger men exude. Such men are more likely to be involved in keeping themselves physically fit through activities like karate, biking, hiking, skiing and other sports. And usually, older women who attract those younger men keep themselves physically fit, as well. In addition, authors Susan Winter and Felicia Brings, of the book, Older Women/Younger Men New Options for Love and Romance (New Horizon Press, 2000), have discovered a group of men that look at the whole woman. "They see the whole picture, and they're capable of embracing power and they love a strong woman," says Winter. Is Sex Better Between an Older Woman and a Younger Man?If the sex is better, does this mean they have a better life? Feeling beautiful, young, and appreciated by a younger man seems to pay dividends for women and men, in these types of relationships, according to Dr. Laura Berman, a sex therapist and one of the leading experts in women's sexual health in the United States. Another plus is that older women and younger men are more in sync, sexually. And, still another plus is that many of these women are beyond worrying about pregnancy, PMS, and even menopause. What freedom for them, and they are taking full advantage of it. More Pros for The Older Woman, Younger Man MarriageSince women live longer than men, it is likely that the older woman will have her man around for more years. That means, they are more apt to have a longer life to have fun together. Couples in these types of marriages tend to have more enjoyment with each other because they do more activities together and appreciate life. They grow "young" together, because the best time is "right now." The older woman, younger man marriage includes many wonderful benefits for both wives and husbands. The wives feel appreciated by their husbands who value all the strengths they bring to the relationship, such as stronger self-esteem and independence, personally and even financially. An older woman also enjoys the fresh outlook and energy that a younger husband brings to the life of the marriage. And husbands benefit from a woman who feels freer to express herself emotionally and physically. They are more sexually in sync too. This can make for a lively, satisfying sex life, free from worries of potential unplanned pregnancies, bouts of PMS and even the emotional upheavals that can befall women going through menopause. And, since women live longer than men, the older woman, younger man marriage means more years together. Resources: Kershaw, Sarah. "Rethinking the Older Woman-Younger Man Relationships".
