As your wedding day approaches, the responsibilities begin to pile up. Here are some of the major things to remember as you plan the final details.
Getting married is an exciting yet stressful time. Just a few days before the wedding though, not only do your nerves get jittery, so do your responsibilities. That being said, check out these things to keep in mind right before your wedding day: Emergency Wedding KitsPut together a small do-it-yourself sewing kit and have your bridesmaids keep it with them. Who knows — your shoe strap might just snap apart. Contact List for the Bridesmaids and GroomsmenMake sure your wedding party has each other's contact info (and remember, this goes beyond email!). Also, your wedding party should have the phone numbers and emails of your vendors just in case, including the reception hall, caterer, deejay, florist and such. Update the Guest ListIf anyone has cancelled on you at the last minute, make sure your guest list is updated. This also goes for place cards, personalized wedding favours, seating in the reception hall and dinner plans. Honeymoon DetailsDon't forget to prepare for your honeymoon. Get your passport and reservations ready. And don't forget to make an appointment with your family doctor in regards to travel advice. (OHIP does not cover travel advice or travel vaccinations, so please contact your doctor for fee details.) Final PaymentsFor any final payments on the last day, keep them each in individual envelopes and mark them legibly. Double-check with your vendors the final totals just in case. The BridesmaidsDiscuss dress alterations with your bridesmaids. Did they need to get them altered? Were they already altered? Do they need to purchase shoes? The GroomsmenMake sure they know when and where to pick up their tuxes. Also, who is carrying the rings? The ScheduleGo over your schedule with the wedding party, immediate families and anyone else helping out. Better yet, have them all together so that you can explain everything just once. Everyone needs to understand their roles and responsibilities beforehand. Relax! Most of all, don't forget to have fun! Before the big day, go for a massage, have a fine dinner with your husband- or bride-to-be and take in the whole moment. Overall, wedding planning can be crazy near the end of it. But just remember that organization is key — keep everyone in the loop, always update your guest lists, stay in close contact with your vendors and make sure your honeymoon details are in order. If need be, take time to create a checklist so that you can visually see what you have or haven't done yet. Good luck!
