Dressing as a book and a sexy librarian is an easy and cheap adult couple's costume that only requires one large box. For him, decorate the box to look like a book. Cut the bottom flaps off the box and cut a neck hole and arm holes. Wrap the box in plain paper and write a snappy title on the cover and the spine of the book. Use a ruler to make “pages” on the top and one side.

His wife escorts him as a librarian. For a sexy librarian look, wear a pencil skirt, twin-set cardigan and high heels. Wear hair in a bun or up-do and add a pair of prim and proper glasses.

Married couples can get dressed up as a dice set by using two large boxes. Each person wears an all-white or all-black outfit. Cut the flaps off the bottom of the box and add neck and arm holes. Either wrap each box in white paper or paint the boxes white. Cut circles out of black construction paper. Glue black dots for each number to each side of the boxes.

Making two boxes into a television and a remote control is another his-and-her costume idea for couples. Each partner wears an all black outfit. In this case, one partner decorates a box to look like a television. Cut the bottom flaps off the box and add a neck hole and arm holes. Paint the box or cover it in black or gray paper. Use a ruler to mark off the television screen and use pages from a magazine to create a scene on the television screen. Stencil or print the television’s brand name on the box.

For the remote control, follow the same instructions, except mark off the remote control numbers and buttons. An alternative is to cut up sponges, paint them black or gray with white numbers, and glue them to the box.
