See here for some Valentine's Day gift basket ideas for the woman you love. Just add a few personal touches, and she is sure to be pleased.

Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, and with it comes the inevitable fear of buying your wife the wrong thing. Why not put together a great gift basket? It will include various items that she loves, and she will know that you spent the time to make it personal. Plus, she will appreciate the time you have put into preparing it. Check at your local craft store to find just the right basket and buy a big red bow to top it off.

Spa/Bath Gift Basket

This basket is great for the wife who needs some pampering. Include an assortment of bath gels, salts, oils, and bubbles. Add a loofa and bath brush. Consider a thick, fluffy towel set as well. This gift basket is sure to please.

Chocolate Lover Gift Basket

No Valentine's Day would be complete without chocolates. Search through the stores and start collecting different flavors and types of chocolate. You'll find quite the assortment at this time of the year. Do not forget the hot cocoa or a mocha mix. This basket is a sweet tooth's dream.

Exotic Foods Basket

Along the same lines as a basket of chocolate, an exotic food basket is a terrific way to show your wife you care. Check out a nearby cultural market store and see what you can find. Think of:

  • Crackers
  • Cheeses
  • Jellies
  • Wines
  • Desserts

For a special touch, look for unique trinkets from other countries as well, such as ornaments and other knick knacks.

Romance Gift Basket

One of the most popular of the gift baskets is one centered around romance. It is also one of the hardest for a man to put together for his wife. Try these ideas:

  • Bottle of wine
  • Wine bottle opener
  • Variety of cheeses and crackers
  • Fresh strawberries
  • Crystal glasses

If your wife is an avid romance novel reader, take note of her favorite authors. A romance novel would make a nice addition to this gift basket. Also consider placing in a gift certificate to your wife's favorite restaurant.

Beauty Gift Basket

If your wife has simply not had time to take care of herself the way she usually does, a basket full of gift certificates to her favorite beauty salon will certainly be appreciated. Add in an assortment of nail polishes and pedicure products. You may also consider a certificate to her favorite beauty counter in a department store. Sales associates can certainly help in putting together the right basket for your wife.

Movie Buff Basket

If your wife loves movies, but never seems to have the time to go to the cinema, consider getting a couple of her all time favorites. This might be the time to pick up that "chick flick" you have secretly been wanting to see! Add in some microwave popcorn or pick up some gourmet stuff from the nearest mall. Include a box or two of her favorite theater candy, such as Junior Mints or Mike and Ike's. She will appreciate the gesture.

Weekend Getaway Basket

This basket may be rather small, but it can pack a big punch. Grab up two airline tickets for the weekend. Place them in the basket with a brochure for a quaint bed and breakfast. Add in a small travel pillow and book of crosswords for the flight. You are sure to make her Valentine's Day something to remember with this basket.

There are many gift basket ideas other than those listed above. Use your imagination. You know your wife better than anyone else. Pick out a few things that she loves and put them in a basket. They don't all have to match or go along with a theme. In this case, it truly is the thought that counts.
