It can be difficult to find the prefect gift to remember and celebrate the wonderful memories during a wedding anniversary. Here are some ideas to make shopping easier.

With the common hectic lifestyles today it can be difficult to find the time to think of the perfect gift, much less to actually shop. Having some ideas in advance will help decrease some worries in an already stressful day. Couples who are thinking of following the traditional anniversary themes as a guide can use the list below to start their shopping adventure.

Wood Gifts for Fifth Anniversary

Following the traditional list, the fifth anniversary gift is wood. Wood offers a lot of variety in the possibilities to express the couple’s feelings on this special day.

Gift Ideas:

  • A pair of wooden rocking chairs
  • Wooden chess set
  • Plant a fruit bearing tree – At the following anniversaries use the fruit from the tree to create a dish.

Unique Travel Gift Idea:

  • Wood Carvers Show – Travel to see professional wood carvers create wonderful creations. Send a photo in advance to a carver to have a couple model waiting during the visit to the show.

Iron Gifts for Sixth Anniversary

The sixth year gift can be candy or iron. Candy is a wonderful gift but its sweetness is only temporary. Iron can offer something more permanent in comparison. A combination of the two is also a great idea.

Gift Ideas:

  • Candy in an engraved jar
  • Iron teapot set
  • Golf club/couples golf session – Play a game within the game. During the first six holes recall one happy memory from each year. In the next six recall two memories from years 1 to 6. In the last six holes, recall three memories from years 1 to 6.

Unique Travel Gift Idea:

  • Blacksmith Shop – Visit an area that uses traditional blacksmith equipment. Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia is just one example. There is also the chance to visit local parks in the area.

Wool/Copper Gifts for Seventh Anniversary

Wool and Copper are the gifts for the seventh anniversary. These gifts offer a lot of variety for the weary shopper. Gifts can help to provide a relaxing night or a reason to enjoy the town.

Gift Ideas:

  • Matching wool coats
  • Wool/Cashmere blanket
  • Copper Fire Pit – Enjoy a quiet night outside together. Depending on the weather the wool blanket may also be needed.

Unique Travel Gift Idea:

  • Copper Art Show – Travel to a fine art copper show. It is possible to find copper art to accentuate a room in the house or add an exciting piece to a lawn or garden.

Bronze/Pottery Gifts for Eighth Anniversary

Year eight also offers a little more variety with a dual gift theme. Bronze and/or pottery are the gifts for this anniversary. Both of these gifts work well as additions to outside areas that are used often.

Gift Ideas:

  • Bronze wind chime
  • Bronze garden sculptures
  • Pottery planting vase – Purchase a group of vases in increasing sizes. During future anniversaries the couple can transfer the plants to the larger vases as needed.

Unique Travel Gift Idea:

  • Pottery lessons – The couple can complete a private pottery lesson. The goal is to create something special for the other person.

With a little planning ahead, it is easy to have the perfect gift for an anniversary. While some ideas are more expensive than others, they all share the ability to express the feelings that couples may not be able to express to each other throughout the year.
