» Serena101 - Which to use...
My birth name is Leslie Serena Whitney.
I married a Watters - we have one daughter.
I married a Booth - we have a daughter.
I have been playing with using my first & middle names, using Watters-Booth, or Watters Booth.
My daughter, 13, has recently felt "awkward" about my being a Booth, her "dad" (Lynn) a Booth and Aimee being a Booth & she is a WAtters.
Lynn & I raise her - her father lives across the state & doesn't participate in normal weekend visitation & so forth. Of course, I let her stay with him a week longer than is required in the summer.
We all get along great, btw ![]()
I asked my daughter if she'd like me to be Watters-Booth & she said she liked that.
I am considering putting something on paper, legally, but not sure what to decide on.
Leslie was my name used growing up.
I started going by Serena after h.s.
I really have a bond, if you will, with both names. Leslie reminds me of my childhood (little girl with big brown eyes & curly blond hair loving the world). Serena is what people refer to me today - Lynn prefers it.
I am getting a new name badge for work & going to change my driver's license since we recently moved.
I don't see Watters-Booth on my name badge working too well.
What does social security allow?
Should I legally change my name?
((Funny that now that I've typed this out, I feel sure soc. security would deem me "Leslie Serena Booth"...maybe just stick with it & leave it all alone? My "hangup" is my daughter's feeling on it. Lynn said use Serena Watters Booth - dropping Leslie altogether))..
Ok..I'm just confusing myself further..
Thank you for your input, experiences, knowledge, and so forth
