» jennij112 - gift cards only

I am giving my sister in law a house warming shower. She has plent of everything except things like curtains, throw pillows, and things like that. How can I word the invitation to ask for gift cards only?

I just took part in a gift card bridal shower. Some of the wording in the invitation I received went like this: "You are invited to be a part of a gift card & recipe shower...You can find a list of gift card suggestions on the bottom of this page...Granted, this is a bit unusual. Because we are not able to personally participate in the usual Bridal shower, by using mail, we'll still celebrate with them, just in a different way!....You each are very special to this couple..."
The warmth of the wording and the reason for the gift card shower clearly came across in the invitation. I eagerly took part in it. Being invited to share in something special is always a compliment to the recipient. If you take these ideas and apply them to your unique situation, the invitations should come out okay.
